These are the example I found while finding out what each motion design fundamentals is and also what I think it is without searching the meaning online.
Good synthesis with music
I think this Avenger End Credit is suitable for good synthesis with music because to me synthesis means different elements, for example detail, colour etc. When I was figuring out what good synthesis with music is .I thought about the end or intro credits because that is how the editor of the movie grab our attention and make us remember them. The song they chose for this video is really suitable as it has a super hero feeling which the movie is about. The song is also suitable for the close up of the costume. Even the text is suitable a simple and readable font.
Timing
This is my favourite billboard I have seen online. simple design, but clever outcome. Because this ad is all about timing. We know that vampire don’t like being in the sun. So the only way we can see Dracula is at night time, which is really clever.
I even like the little poster in the bottom saying ” In case of vampires break glass” because if we did see a vampire we want something that can kill them to protect ourself.
Leading the eye
I have seen the ad in tv simple and bold colours grab my attention. The design is easy to understand and match with the text same goes to their website. Both have the same design. Because of this i know this belongs to 2 degrees.That means in my work it is a good idea to have a style or technique that people can recognise it is my work.
Good contrast of motion
To me contrast means black and white. Simple but grabs our attention. Sometime it doesn’t look good because of the design or the transition. But if we do it correctly, it will look professional.
Anticipation
I remember when I first watch this with other people. Everyone was rooting for the dog to find its owner, but instead the owner now has a dog. They build this amazing different story for lotto. It grabbed my attention I wanted to find out what was going to happen.
Same goes to the Coca Cola ad where the dog bobby was looking for a Coca Cola bottle with his name. A story that has a purpose.
Secondary motion
For me secondary motion mean having more movement during a movement.To have more detail instead of having something being still. The first idea i got for this was cartoon and Mickey Mouse came to my mind.By having a secondary motion it make the object more interesting.
Ease in ease out
For me ease in ease out means the smoothness of a video starting and ending. For me, I think this is an excellent example because its professional, good transition and something I should do for my animation.
Follow through
To me follow through mean a continue of something. Like a loop a never ending motion, no pause and have the same ending. For example, this gif from the same website as above shows a good example of follow through. The way this was animated shows it is a loop because object keep moving while the colour is changing .
Staging
For staging means the layout of the video.For me i think this is a good example of staging because the ghost are in a cemetery and moving along the music . The designer places the ghost character correctly. I also like the way the ghost move and angles.
Screen Depth
To me screen depth means a 2d,3d effect where the object isn’t on a flat surface.I really like the second gif as it makes me feel like the ball is actually falling.If I was going to do something like this I can make something fall down. Or even add detail to make it have some depth. So it doesn’t look like flat art design.
In conclusion I enjoy looking at example for this task because it’s fun, I get to see awesome examples from around the world in different style. which can help me with my work by giving me more ideas.By doing this task I am finding out new ideas on how to improve my work by looking at others for reference.
