Welcome to my blog
Everything around me, inspires me. But I think the things that inspire me the most are the shows, clips, movies I watch and also the way my friends think and design. No matter where I am or what I am doing in the back my mind, I get some ideas from looking at design everywhere.
The city is also where I can get inspired because of the diversity, each road looks different, and there are lots of designs everywhere. For example the Queens Wharf I took a lot of pictures for my last year assignment. Taking photos of some parts of an area will have more designs/It’s like an art work inside of an art work.
It depends on what the topic is. There is no time limit on brainstorming and mind mapping. I can do this throughout my assignment. This will help me break down my ideas and even create more design idea etc.
When I have ideas that I made from brainstorming and mood boarding. I show them to my classmate first as they have a better understanding of the assignment. Then my family and friends, but I do show it to my friends and family by asking them what they think and explain why they think like that. This way I either know if they understand the reason why I did that or not. From that I can improve my work.
You can be creative no matter where you are. So for me there isn’t a place where I get creative. I develop my idea by researching and thinking of ways on how to improve it.
I find my inspiration from my old work, Pinterest, YouTube. Even when walking there are different design everywhere that can help think of the idea.
The area of design I find challenging is sometime when I have a great idea, but I can’t make it work in motions or it wasn’t how I vision it. I want to improve the way my work will look and move in motion. Mostly want to improve my drawing skill and the smoothness of my motions. I am doing this by watching tutorial therefore to get information like tips on how to improve my skills and learn shortcuts.
I’m good with planning, I just do what I can per day (reaching a goal). But when in a group every day we talk to each other and tell each other what we want to complete or start on that day. I don’t get distracted easily.
Why did I choose Motion Design as my major?
When I was reading the bachelor on the media design website. it caught my attention and I really like the sound of it. Also, I enjoy doing motion in my foundation course. Year 1 I liked both motion and graphic, but since I can’t choose both I decided to carry on with motion because that is the reason why I am in Bachelor of media design. But I am also glad that I know how to do other things like graphic, interactive, photography, etc. I have knowledge of everything which can help me in the future.
